Having agreed upon wording, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC); consisting of delegates from 100 nations, is about to publicly release their 4th assessment report on global warming.

The report has been published amid disagreements from some of the thousands of participating scientists and authors who have accused government delegates on diluting the impact of their findings.

Regardless, the 21 page document warns that global warming is accelerating faster than expected and the effects could be more widespread and severe than previously forecast.

Among the predictions:

- A fall in crop yields in Africa and expenditure of up to 10 per cent of GDP on adapting to climate change in African nations.
- Himalayan glaciers rapidly diminishing
- An increase in killer  heatwaves in Europe and North America.
- Water shortages that could affect billions of people
- A rapid increase in the number of extinctions
- Sea level rises occurring over centuries.

The findings underline the fact that global warming induced climate change isn't a possible issue for the future; it's arrived.
